How To Make Miniature Furniture is a really great book, written by a REAL woodworker and master craftsman. It begins with a discussion of tools, selecting woods, how to find wood and all the things you need to begin a project of your own. It then goes through the skills and techniques needed to create projects. The last section includes several projects that pull it all together, and allow you to create your own furniture of a quality you just cannot buy!

Unlike most books which lead you through one project done by the author after another, with little to let you go off on your own and build that idea that has been in the back of your brain -- and perhaps was the reason you bought the book -- this book revs your engine and the first thing you want to do is scrounge the basement, garage sales and woodshops for the raw materials to begin your own major creation. You'll never look at a broken board the same way again!

If you can find it, I reccommend this book 100% to ANYONE -- beginner or advanced -- who is interested in the historical beginings of miniatures, the skills of the craftsmen who made them, and yearns to join their ranks.
