Making
Dolls' Houses in 1/12 Scale ~ Ships in 2-3
days
Brian Nickolls, Jonathon Bosley (Photographer) / Paperback / Published
1996 This book is supurbly photographed, and includes descriptions of how he built each house. Unlike the book described above this book is not a wealth of ideas for your own projects, but rather a documentary of how he built his own houses - spectacular as they are. Also, as you may recognize, "the House that Moved" from the cover is now featured in a number of ads in British magazines. It's a well done house, but as stunning as this house is, most people will want to make their own, not copy his. That is where the book falls short. The tips and techniques are very, very sparse. If he had spent more time telling how he did SPECIFIC things to the house, the book would be that much more valuable. For example, if he gave detailed descriptions about how he Tudored the shell and laid the beams, you'd be able to apply his techniques - but he doesn't, and you can't. It's still a beautiful book, but it's more about HIM making dollhouses than teaching you how. Making Dolls' Houses in 1/12 Scale

Ready
to Use Dollhouse Stained Glass Windows
Ed J. Sibbett / Paperback / Published 1990 Dover 145 stain glass windows ready for you to color with markers or water colors, or other pigments in whatever color scheme matches your decor. 1"-1' scale. Most of the designs are Victorian, but there are some in the Federal and Art Deco styles. Many of the windows can be cut for tiny windows. The windows are in groups so larger windows and window groups can be paned in the same pattern. The images are on translucent paper, with a heavy black background, so that when colored, the window panes glow without show through. The windows are in different shapes and have a variety of styles and formats from single pane to triple pane. |
